Yesterday, we posted our first full blog on our site. Today, we felt excited when we saw that 34 people had looked at our blog. Then we saw that 21 people had commented on our blog.
We want to say a big 'Thank you' to the Year 3 and 4 pupils from Waikowhai School for commenting. We loved reading all your comments and suggestions.
This is how we felt when we read your comments:
- "Surprised because so many people commented," said Alice.
- "Important because when people comment, we feel famous and important," said Ava.
- "Happy because we did this yesterday and 34 people have seen it," said Tyler
- "Proud because this was only our second time doing this," said Leo
- "It made us feel all warm and fuzzy because all these people commented on our blog. We feel special," said Eilidh.
- "Cool and like a Super Hero because they all commented," said Jackson
- "I feel like a gangster because lots of people commented on our blog," said Mila.
- "Happy because so many people commented on our blog but we cant reply to them all," said Stephen
- "Awesome because everyone is cool," said Charlie
- "We feel like we are on the news to the whole world because lots of people commented and made us really happy," said Madeline
So thank you again Year 3 and 4 at Waikowhai School. We will look at you blog and will continue to update ours now. Thanks for reading!
We are a bright and happy bunch of Year 3 & 4 students at Belfast School in Ōtautahi, Christchurch.

Birds
In Room 8, we have been learning about birds. We have mostly been learning about New Zealand endemic birds. Here are some of the birds we have been learning about and some facts.
Kiwi - they can't fly, they eat worms and their nostrils are at the end of their beaks.
Karearea - its can swoop down and catch it's prey, it has a sharp beak and it can fly over 100 km per hour.
Haast's Eagle - this bird is extinct but it used to eat Moa, it occasionally ate humans (but we hope it won't eat Ms Toscano! or Room 8), it was the biggest bird ever and had a wing span of up to 3 m.
Piwakawaka - also known as the Fantail, they dart around to eat their food, when you walk around - they eat the bugs that move around you and their is a pure white fantail.
Tui - they have 2 voice boxes so they can copy other noises including human voices, they have 2 white feathers under their chin called a 'poi' and shows that in Maori myth, they were cowards.
We even made our own birds out of cardboard and paper which are hanging in our classroom.
We had lots of fun making birds out of Lego. If you want to know anything about NZ birds, we know lots so may be able to help you.
Thanks for reading. Ka kite.

Kia ora Everyone
Hi World,
We are from Belfast School in the South Island of New Zealand. We are nice. We are really excited to blog because it is our first time doing it. Our teacher is the amazing Ms Toscano. We love to play with toys. Our school is so fun and big. We love going on the Chromebooks. We can be nice to you. Our school has a pool, does yours? You should come and see us sometime, even if it is just on our blog.
Please comment and tell us a little bit about your school.
